A quick note that Plate Tectonics was not a developed theory until the early 60′s. Continental drift was introduced in 1915 by a German meteorologist, and thus not believed. Steve might believe the Earth is static, that the seafloor has no features (mountain ranges, trenches, etc), and that Pangaea is false.  This is how he comes out of the ice in the 21st century.
